Last night, I ran out and made my "last" shopping run in preparation for this trip.  I bought new athletic shoes (hadn't bought myself new athletic shoes in 3 years!), a string/lightweight backpack and binoculars. I'm not terribly fond of shopping, but shopping for shoes that are going to take me to places like Tanzania does add some excitement to the aisles of a sporting goods store.
